Description: Join us for an approximately 4.5 miles hike on the beautiful 2,700 acre Duke Farms property. Formerly the estate of J.B. and Doris Duke, it now serves as a public "living lab" for nature restoration, featuring over 18 miles of trails.

We will be walking the outer loop path which consists of paved paths through the Core property, seeing notable features including the Hay Barn, Coach Barn, and Great Falls, with Research Woods and the Arboretum and Meditation Garden. Elevation gain on this will be minimal at 100 feet.

Paved paths are plowed in the winter and should be clear of any snow, but sturdy shoes with good traction are recommended. If snowing day of activity traction devices like microspikes or yak tracks and poles are recommended. Bring water and snacks. Hike may be canceled due to inclement weather. Hike leader will contact you the day of in case of cancellation.

Join in for optional post hike food and a warm drink at the farm cafe on the property featuring local and seasonal treats.

Please note: In order to comply with Pennsylvania Youth Protection Laws, all children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. This policy applies for all events offered by the Delaware Valley Chapter as well as any other Chapter events within the state of Pennsylvania.

This trip is intended to be a 20s/30s affinity trip. Participation is limited to those who identify with this age group. If you have any questions about eligibility or the nature of this trip, please contact the trip leader by email for more information.
