Audience: 20’s & 30’s
Description: Join the 20s/30s for a scenic, approximately 5-mile loop hike through Black Run Preserve. Black Run Preserve is a 1300-acre natural gem located in Evesham Township, New Jersey, with unique Pine Barrens ecology.
This route follows the Peaceful Partner’s Trail and Long Path around several bogs. Our primary goal is to enjoy the outdoors, have fun, and perhaps spot some beavers in the preserve.
The terrain is flat overall (approximately 80ft of elevation change); the first half of the trail is wooded and sandy, but the second half of the trail is bumpy with tree roots. If it has recently rained, parts of the trail will be muddy.
Meet at 9:45 AM in the Kettle Run Road East parking lot next to the Porta-potties. If this lot is full, there is another parking lot across the street on the West side.
Hiking boots or sturdy shoes are advised. Please bring at least one bottle of water and pack a snack to enjoy midway, if you wish.
Rain cancels. The leader will send a status email by 11:00 PM the night before the hike. All participants will need to agree to and sign a paper AMC legal waver sheet just prior to the hike if you did not register online in the AMC Outdoor Connector.
This trip is intended to be a 20s/30s affinity trip. Participation is limited to those who identify with this age group. If you have questions about eligibility or the nature of this trip, please contact the trip leader(s) by email for more information.
Please note: In order to comply with Pennsylvania Youth Protection Laws, all children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. This policy applies for all events offered by the Delaware Valley Chapter as well as any other Chapter events within the state of Pennsylvania.
