Description: Join us on a 5 mile hike with 300 feet of elevation gain in beautiful Washington Crossing state park.

This park is the site of General George Washington’s historic 1776 Christmas night crossing of the icy Delaware River on his way to Trenton. The park is part of a National historic site that includes the Pennsylvania side of the river as well.

From the parking lot on route 29, we will be starting our hike along the D&R canal path. Eventually crossing 29 and walking about a quarter of a mile on pavement to pick up a trail in Washington Crossing park. We will make a big loop that includes walking past the nature center and ending with the brand new visitors center close to where we parked. (At the time of posting this hike the visitor center is still under construction so hopefully it is finished soon!)

Join us at Its Nuts after for ice cream or lunch right in Titusville.

The trail is dirt and does have roots and rocks in sections. Please wear sturdy walking or hiking shoes with good grip, and trekking poles are optional for the trail conditions. If it has recently rained, trails may be muddy. Bring plenty of water and snacks. Hike may be canceled due to inclement weather. Hike leader will contact you the day of for cancellation.

This trip is intended to be a 20s/30s affinity trip. Participation is limited to those who identify with this age group. If you have any questions about eligibility or the nature of this trip, please contact the trip leader by email for more information.

Please note: In order to comply with Pennsylvania Youth Protection Laws, all children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian.
