Description: Come out for a fun paddling trip on Carnegie Lake in Princeton, NJ G et out your kayak. canoe or paddleboard for a easy and scenic paddle. Rentals are available at the launch site at Princeton Kayak and Canoe https://www.princetoncanoe.com You can reserve a boat in advance or rent when you arrive.

We put in near the canal in Princeton at Turning Basin Park, off Alexander Road and cross over a short portage to the lake. This is easy flat water. We'll paddle for about 5 or 6 miles up Stony Brook Creek and around Carnegie Lake. Optional social gathering following our ride at Metro North.

This will be led by Patty Woodruff who is training to become a new paddling leader for our AMC chapter. You must register for this trip and all participants are required to sign the AMC liability release.

Requirements (for your safety):

  • You must wear your PFD while on the water.
  • Wear old sneakers, water socks or some other form of closed toe foot protection. Flip-flops are not acceptable.
  • Bring plenty of water and snacks.

Suggestions (for your comfort):

  • Wear a bathing suit or quick drying clothes suitable for getting wet.
  • Bring sunscreen and insect repellent.
  • Bring a dry bag or waterproof container for your personal belongings.
  • Have a secure place to carry your car keys.
  • Bring a hat and sunglasses.
  • Have a set of dry clothes in your car so you can change for the ride home.

Please note: In order to comply with Pennsylvania Youth Protection Laws, all children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. This policy applies for all events offered by the Delaware Valley Chapter as well as any other chapter events within the state of Pennsylvania.

This trip is intended to be a 20s/30s affinity trip. Participation is limited to those who identify with this age group. If you have questions about eligibility or the nature of this trip, please contact the trip leader(s) by email for more information*.*
