Description: Join the 20s/30s group for their super-combo offering: a beginner hike + picnic that kicks off at 12:30pm, right when your hike will end.

Ridley Creek State Parkis a 2,606-acre lush oasis that includes a mix of woodlands, meadows, and a trout-stocked creek.

Our 2.25-mile loop hike will begin and end at Pavillion 17, the site of the 20s/30s picnic. From the Pavillion, we will hop onto a paved trail that borders the picnic site. Almost immediately, we will turn onto a shaded, dirt path that is part of a wide loop that returns us to Pavilion 17. The 300 ft of elevation primarily happens on two steep sections of the trail. Since this is a beginner hike, we will take our time and go at the group pace.

Expect sections of the trail to be overgrown; since you will be brushing against vegetation and the occasional prickle bush, we recommend long pants. Wear sturdy shoes; trails may be muddy if it has rained recently. As usual, bring water.

The hike and the picnic are two separate events, so you have to register for each of them. (Sorry, but we need a head count to know how much food to buy. Please let us know if anyone plans to bring along a pup!)

In addition to the address provided, there will be directional signs for the pavilion throughout the park.

This event is intended to be a 20s/30s affinity trip. Participation is limited to those who identify as part of this age group. If you have questions about eligibility or the nature of this trip, please contact the trip leader(s) by email for more information.

Please note: To comply with Pennsylvania Youth Protection Laws, all children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their parent or a legal guardian. This policy applies to all events offered by the Delaware Valley Chapter, as well as any other Chapter events within the state of Pennsylvania.
