20s/30s Hike: 9-mile Pulpit Rock and Pinnacle Loop

Audience: 20’s & 30’s
Description: Join the 20s/30s group on a rewarding but slightly challenging hike to Pulpit Rock and Pinnacle Rock. This 9-mile loop is a perfect opportunity to meet new friends, explore new places, and see amazing views of the Lehigh Valley!
The first 3 miles are steep and rocky, with an elevation gain of about 1000ft to reach Pulpit Rock Overlook. We will follow the ridge for about a mile and a half until reaching The Pinnacle Overlook. This is where we will take in the views and have a lunch break. The remaining miles will be mainly downhill as we head back to the cars. There will be about 1200 ft of elevation gain.
We will meet at 10 am at Pinnacle Trailhead (40.583290,-75.941840). Please arrive a few minutes early so we can hit the trails at 10 am. If you need to get in contact with the leader, please contact Alyssa at (570)899-0147.
Please bring plenty of water, lots of snacks, and a packed lunch, which we will be having on the trail. This trail will be rocky and rooty. Sunscreen, insect repellent, and a hat are recommended, as well as sturdy hiking boots and poles if you like to use them. Extreme heat will cancel the hike.
If you're feeling hungry after all the hiking, we can head over to the Westy Bar and Grill (40.551884,-75.994802), located about 15 minutes from the trailhead.
This trip is intended to be a 20s/30s affinity trip. Participation is limited to those who identify as part of this age group. If you have questions about eligibility or the nature of this trip, please contact the trip leader(s) by email for more information.
