Intro to Kayak Camping

Camp overnight on an island in Boston harbor. This trip will accommodate those new to kayak camping, those that rarely do so, as well as experienced campers. Before the trip, we will discuss gear, food, water, and packing as well as trip planning and hazards. You will need a kayak with front and aft sealed hatches, backpack camping gear (preferred), and moderate paddling skills. Your kayak should be >15' to keep up with other boats. We plan to paddle 3-6 nm each day depending on conditions. This trip is listed as moderate because conditions can change overnight. Also, maneuvering and landing loaded boats can be different than an empty boat.
