Whitewater Paddling on the Pemi Bristol (Cl 2)

Description: Come and paddle a Class 2 whitewater section on the Pemigewasset (or Pemi). This dam release only occurs a couple of times a year. Previous experience in whitewater is required. This section of the river is short (1.7 miles) and has a couple of great features to surf or play. We'll plan to meet at put in (near Ayer's Dam) and run shuttle before the release. All participants must have the required equipment including a whitewater kayak or canoe, spray skirt (if relevant), floatation bags, paddles, PFD (required at all times on the water), and helmet. Boat rentals are available through AMC if coordinated ahead by contacting the trip leader. Prior experience in paddling class II whitewater is required.
