Description: Join us as we do two overnights on a secluded, wooded, and beautiful historic island with a lighthouse: one of Maine's best kept secrets.
Sunday 9/6 EARLY MORNING: We'll paddle out the mouth of the Kennebec River (or elsewhere in the Phippsbug/Brunswich/Bath area in Maine), set up tents and camp on an island. Monday 9/7: Do a day trip on Labor day and return to camp on the island. Tuesday 9/8 EARLY MORNING: Paddle back to shore.
Participants need to have level 2 paddle skills and some camping experience. You must have a kayak you can load with camping gear, food, water, and be ready for some choppy water and wind. Flexibility on launch and destination are necessary as weather and other factors may require a change of itinerary.
Participants are advised to GET LODGING ON YOUR OWN SATURDAY NIGHT in the area so you can be ready launch early Sunday in Phippsburg. The tide will not wait, we must launch on time. Contact the leader to be approved for the trip.
