Giant Stairs (Vigorous)

Let's have fun this Thursday hiking in Palisades Interstate Park, NJ. The hike starts at State Line Lookout. The hike is 3.8 miles, and with approx 760 ft elevation gain. While that looks easy, this hike includes ‘Giant Stairs’ rock scrambles. This is considered ‘hard’ for novices and we recommend that you be in a good hiking shape and comfortable moving on rocks.

The hike will start in the parking lot indicated. There is no public transportation. The parking is charged by the meter that can be paid via Park Mobile or at the Kiosk. There hike should be under 3 hours. This is a rewarding hike, along the Hudson River. You will be exposed to the sun for a portion of the hike and be prepared with sunscreen if there is no cloud cover.

You will need good hiking shoes/boots, water, snack for the trip. We will move steadily but with stops at regular intervals. It should not be hurried.
