BEARFORT RIDGE AND SURPRISE LAKE (Vigorous)

We will hike an 8 Mile loop with 1400 ft elevation gain. The hike will start with a steep climb up to the ridge. Expect beautiful scenery and views of Greenwood Lake once on the ridge. Bring plenty of water, lunch and snacks. About 2+ MPH. Not for beginners. Since the difficulty rating menu allows only singular designations, the rating of "vigorous" is being used for this moderately to vigorously paced hike. Also, there will be a reasonable number of rest stops. See AMC Trip Policy below.

Please note that Covid-19 has persisted in our region from its onset in 2020, with cases currently on the rise. In the interest of public health, do not join this hike if symptomatic of Covid-19 or infected with it.
