Van Cortlandt Park Stroll

Let’s wrap up the 4th of July Weekend with an easy walk in Van Cortlandt Park!

Van Cortlandt Park is a wonder with a mix of paved, gravel and packed-dirt trails on flat terrain as well as steep-ish hills. For this 3-4 miles walk, we’ll be kind to ourselves and look for trails with less elevation.

We’ll meet at 4:00pm outside the public restrooms on the Broadway side of the Park, just north of the 242nd St #1 train station. We’ll talk briefly about the AMC and today’s route before heading off no later than 4:15pm.

** Please note there is MTA Planned Service on the #1 line. If you are coming via the #1 from below 168th Street, you will need to take the free shuttle bus from 137th-168th St stations. Anticipate an additional 30+minutes travel time. **

Please wear sturdy shoes and bring a hat and water.
