Join AMC’s Concrete to Trails Bus Trips
Discover wild places just beyond the city limits—no Uber, Lyft or train ticket required! AMC’s Concrete to Trails program offers weekly Saturday bus trips from New York City to stunning natural areas that are typically hard to reach without a vehicle. Whether you're a seasoned hiker or simply seeking fresh air and new views, these outings make it easy to escape the pavement and step into nature.

First Stop: Reeves Meadow Visitor Center, Harriman State Park
Our inaugural trip takes us to the Reeves Meadow Visitor Center, a welcoming gateway to one of the most beloved corners of Harriman State Park. This AMC-managed community hub features rotating naturalist programs all season long. Upon arrival, you’ll have the chance to connect with our knowledgeable Naturalists and learn about local wildlife—topics may include Skulls & Skins, Bears of the Northeast, or other fascinating facets of the forest.

Then, we’ll lace up our boots for a gently paced 5-mile hike to the scenic shores of Pine Meadow Lake, one of the most picturesque and popular destinations in Harriman State Park. Expect rocky terrain, a total elevation gain of about 700 feet, and a steady pace of approximately 2 mph. We’ll stop for lunch at the lake and take breaks along the way to soak in the scenery.
