AMC’s Concrete to Trails program offers weekly Saturday bus trips from New York City to stunning natural areas that are typically hard to reach without a vehicle. Whether you're a seasoned hiker or simply seeking fresh air and new views, these outings make it easy to escape the pavement and step into nature.

Hogencamp Mountain and Hogencamp Mine
On this 4-hour hike (5 miles, 900 feet elevation gain) we will go from lake shoreside and Seven Lakes Drive along the Long Path uphill to 'Times Square' before climbing to the rocky mountaintop known as Hogencamp Mountain, anecdotally acknowledged as 'The Heart of Harriman.' We will walk across uneven terrain of varying surface in the state park while exploring a portion of The Long Path, a continuous footpath from Albany to New York City. With a detour to Hogencamp Mine we will eventually witness the exposed rocky surface characteristic of the area's mountaintops. There will be breaks throughout the hike with an extended break at the mountain's summit or at a scenic stream location.

What to Bring:

• Sturdy hiking footwear
• 2 liters of water
• Lunch and snacks
• Sun protection (hat, sunscreen)
• Bug spray
• Trail map and compass (optional)
• Rain gear (just in case!)

Registration Details:

• Open to adults; registration is required for each participant.
• Space is limited to 14 participants, so register early!
• Please register only if you are committed to attending. If plans change, kindly cancel online to open space for others.

Meeting Info:
The group will meet the bus at 8:00 AM and depart promptly by 8:15 AM. Final meeting details (near the George Washington Bridge Bus Station) will be emailed to registered participants 2 days prior to departure.

Round trip transportation is only $5 members / $25 non-members.

Refund Policy: For this trip, a refund is possible if you successfully cancel at [outdoors.org](https://activities.outdoors.org/s/oc-activity/a5UUN000001OWz32AG/act00014825) one week before the trip and your space can be filled.
