Description
On this 5-mile hike, learn about the importance of forest lands in maintaining water quality and managing stormwater. Dr. Kirk Barrett, president of the Rahway River Watershed Association and a licensed professional engineer in Water Resources and Environmental, will be a guest expert on the hike and will talk about the ecology of the Rahway River and watershed and how the river serves as a drinking water supply for nearby towns. The hike will be at a modest pace, with some rocky trails, and will include an ascent from the Rahway River back to the summit of South Mountain. https://www.rahwayriver.org/about.html
Meet at the Locust Grove Parking area. Overflow parking is available in parking lots on the other side of Glen Ave., next to the Millburn library. Bring lunch and water.
