Join AMC’s Concrete to Trails Bus Trips
Discover wild places just beyond the city limits—no Uber, Lyft or train ticket required! AMC’s Concrete to Trails program offers weekly Saturday bus trips from New York City to stunning natural areas that are typically hard to reach without a vehicle. Whether you're a seasoned hiker or simply seeking fresh air and new views, these outings make it easy to escape the pavement and step into nature.

Westmoreland Sanctuary
The hike will cover approximately 5 miles of hilly terrain with an elevation gain of approximately 500 feet. This will take us about 2.5 hours and will be followed by a picnic with benches/tables. There will be restrooms available. Westmoreland Sanctuary is a 669 acre nature center and has a Natural Science Museum. With over 300 species of birds the sanctuary will provide us the opportunity to 'respect wildlife' as well as 'be considerate of others' as we will be sharing the park with park inhabitants as well as picnic invitees.

What to Bring:

• Sturdy hiking footwear
• 2 liters of water
• Lunch and snacks
• Sun protection (hat, sunscreen)
• Bug spray
• Trail map and compass (optional)
• Rain gear (just in case!)

Registration Details:

• Open to adults; registration is required for each participant.
• Space is limited so register early!
• Please register only if you are committed to attending.
• If plans change, kindly cancel online to open space for others.

Meeting Info:
The group will meet the bus at 8:00 AM and depart promptly by 8:15 AM. Final meeting details (near the George Washington Bridge Bus Station) will be emailed to registered participants 2 days prior to departure.

Cost:
Round trip transportation is only $5 members / $25 non-members.

Refund Policy: For this trip, a refund is possible if you successfully cancel at outdoors.org one week before the trip and your space can be filled.
