This woods hike on Butler’s renowned Blue Trail is suitable for beginners, experienced hikers, and those seeking a morning excursion to breathe fresh air and appreciate the scenery. The pace will be moderate to slow, and the terrain will be hilly. Hiking poles are highly recommended.
Mosquitoes may be present in the area, so insect repellent is suggested. The distance of the hike is approximately 2.5 miles, and the estimated time is 2.5 hours. We will make a stop at the “eagles nest,” as depicted in the accompanying photograph, on our return to our vehicles. Please note that there are no formal restrooms available on the hike. We will meet at 9:30 AM in the parking lot. The GPS address is 259 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Mount Kisco, NY. 10549. Dogs on a leash are permitted on the hike.
Public Transportation: MetroNorth Harlem line to Mount Kisco, NY train station. Then a local taxi to hike location. About a 10 minute taxi ride. Ride-share if another hiker is present. Consult MetroNorth train schedule and arrive at Mount Kisco, NY around 9:15 AM then hop a taxi. Let me know that you're coming.
