Join me for a fall hike at FDR State Park. The hike will be about 4 miles with 554 feet of elevation gain. It is mostly wooded, with some views near the wetlands.
We will hike at a steady but relaxed pace and stay together as a group enjoying the scenery, breaks, and snacks as we move through the forest. There can be muddy/ wet areas, and the boardwalk can be slippery at times. This hike is beginner friendly. We will hike at the pace of the leader or the slowest hiker in the group. Please be courteous of the new or slower hikers.
Before the beginning of the hike, we will discuss the opportunity of an early out after 1 or 3 miles. The route may change at the discretion of the hike leader.

THERE IS NO PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
From the Taconic Sate Parkway, take the FDR State Park Exit 16. There is a $10 entrance fee. From the park entrance road keep right and follow the signs to the swimming pool parking area. The trailhead is on the eastern edge of the parking lot south of the entrance/ exit split. Look for a bench and white trail markers on a post.
