This is a challenging 8 mile hike with about 2000 feet of elevation gain which provides spectacular views of the Hudson Valley from the Bear Mountain Bridge, all the way to the Catskills.

We start at the Washburn Trail On Bull Hill Parking lot (just North of Cold Spring), walk to the top of Bull Hill- stopping to view West Point and Constitution Island, and then, on a clear day, the Manhattan skyline. We then go partly down on the other side, and cut across on the yellow trail to Breakneck Ridge, where we have lunch on what I believe is the most spectacular ledge in the area, providing a truly panoramic view! We make it to the top of Breakneck, and then come down on the Blue trail, stopping at a couple of interesting ruins on the way. Rain or severe weather cancels.
