Next General Membership Meeting
MONDAY, APRIL 13, 2026
1800 Hours / 6:00PM CDT for landlubbers
Blue Turtle Bay Marina on Old Hickory Lake
2001 Riverside Rd., Old Hickory, TN 37138
Bruce MacDonald will lead a "brief" discussion on two new books that hold some key boating lessons for us recreational boaters! These are a couple of recent publications that tell fascinating stories: "THE GALES OF NOVEMBER - The Untold Story of the Edmund Fitzgerald" and "THE SEA CAPTAIN'S WIFE - A true Story of Mutiny, Love and Adventure at the Bottom of the World"
Other news:
Our club had a fun "Change of Watch" meeting earlier this month. Your new leadership team was formerly appointed (All of us volunteer club leaders are familiar faces to all of you and we're grateful to Bobby Naylor for leading us over these past many years and to Tom Hudson for assuming command, again, of our local club.) We are grateful also to Bruce and Jane McDonald for hosting, feeding and "watering"us all! It was delicious!
WHAT TO KNOW
General Membership Meetings are where we talk about boats and we share our boating hopes, dreams, adventures, mistakes and lessons-learned, and boating plans for this season...and one of us will frequently do a "brief" boating-related presentation or discussion before wrapping up for the evening.
The meeting is very informal / social: We meet at a restaurant, gather together around a table(s), order & pay for our own meal and beverages, and welcome any and all who would like to know more about safely being afloat and about "America's Boating Club".
If you enjoy being on or near the water, we welcome any and all. You're welcome to join our club whether you own something that floats, or not. Camaraderie and a shared passion for (safe) boating is our common bond. Our age, gender, religion, politics don't matter!
We are looking forward to meeting you! Questions? Email me at Lhudson124@aol.com. Please don't leave a message in Meetup.
