About us
### Life is better with good men around you.
Make friends. Do cool stuff. Have real conversations.
Making genuine friendships as an adult man isn’t always easy. Among Good Men is a Charlottesville-area men only community built to make it a little easier.
Come climb, ride motorcycles, grab breakfast or a beer, play games, laugh, talk about life, and get to know other men.
No pressure to share anything personal. No need to have it all figured out. Just show up as you are.
### What We Do
🧗 Climb at Rocky Top
🏍️ Ride + Breakfast with the guys
🍺 Pints at Random Row Brewery
🎲 Games at a local game shop
🔥 Conversation in a smaller, private setting for men who want to talk about what’s really going on in their lives
Some gatherings might be mostly laughing and having a good time. Others might lead to a conversation you didn’t realize you needed.
### More Than a Meetup
Among Good Men is about friendship, connection, respect, and having good men around you.
You can come because you want people to climb or ride with. You can come because you’re new to the area and want to make friends. You can come because life is kicking your ass and you could use some people who get it.
Or you can simply come because it's good to have people to do life with.
I founded Global Resources for Men in 2020 because I believe men need more opportunities to build genuine friendships and places where they can drop their guard without worrying about what they share being judged or weaponized. Global Resources for Men is a separate platform at www.globalresourcesformen.com for those who want a deeper level of support than what is offered through Among Good Men.
And yes, I am a woman who created this space for men. I’m not here to tell anyone how to be a man. I will not be at all events. Some are hosted by men I trust to hold the space. My role is to help create the environment. The friendships, conversations, experiences, and community belong to the men who show up.
Whether you're thriving, rebuilding, figuring some things out, or just looking for some good guys to hang out with, you're welcome.
Come for the activity. Build real friendships along the way.

Humpback Rocks Hike with the guys
Location not specified yetSometimes the best conversations happen when you’re moving, surrounded by mountains, and there’s nowhere you need to be except on the trail.
Men, join Among Good Men for a Saturday morning hike led by Eugene as we take the longer loop up to Humpback Rocks. This is an opportunity to get outside, meet other men, challenge yourself physically, and explore a deeper conversation about what mature masculinity can look like in our actual lives.
Saturday, September 19th
Meet at 9:30 AM at the trailhead
Please arrive on time. Eugene will wait approximately 15 minutes before the group heads out. I will not be there. I'm having more men lead the activities.
Dogs are welcome.
No state forest fee.As we hike, Eugene will open a conversation around the four masculine archetypes explored in Robert Moore and Douglas Gillette’s King, Warrior, Magician, Lover: Many see this book as one of the foundational books of men's work.
King: Presence, responsibility, order and generative leadership
Warrior: Discipline, courage, boundaries and purposeful action
Magician: Wisdom, awareness, transformation and insight
Lover: Connection, vitality, feeling and engagement with lifeAt the overlook, you’ll have the option to participate in a guided energy meditation or take the time for your own personal meditation and reflection. Eugene’s guided meditation will focus on exploring the embodiment of these four archetypal energies rather than simply talking about them.
You do not need to have read the book to participate. If you’d like to explore it beforehand, you can learn more about King, Warrior, Magician, Lover: Rediscovering the Archetypes of the Mature Masculine here:
King, Warrior, Magician, Lover by Robert Moore & Douglas GilletteCome alone or bring another guy with you. You don’t need to know anyone beforehand, and there’s no expectation that you share anything you don't want to.
Just bring good shoes, water, an open mind, and a willingness to hit the trail with some good men.
