About us
How many bicycles are moving through Amsterdam right now? How many cups of coffee does the city drink each day? Could all its homes be powered by rooftop solar panels?
The Amsterdam Fermi Club is an online group for tackling questions that seem impossible to answer with the information at hand. We break them into manageable parts, make reasonable assumptions, and use simple calculations to produce useful estimates.
Fermi problems are not about finding one exact answer. They help us think critically, reason under uncertainty, and test our intuition about the world.
No advanced mathematics or scientific background is required—just curiosity and a willingness to make an educated guess. Come compare approaches, challenge assumptions, and discover how much we can figure out with a few numbers.
