Six years after Jackie Brown, Quentin Tarantino returned with Kill Bill, an explosive and highly stylized tribute to his love for Hong Kong action cinema, samurai films, and genre storytelling. Blending martial arts, spaghetti western, anime, and pop culture influences, he crafts a bold and unforgettable revenge epic.
Uma Thurman delivers a commanding performance as The Bride, an elite assassin who is gunned down at her own wedding by her former boss Bill (David Carradine) and his deadly circle. After awakening from a five-year coma, she embarks on a relentless, globe-spanning journey of vengeance against the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad.
Across its two chapters, she evolves into the unstoppable “Black Mamba”, a precise and fearless killing machine wielding her samurai sword with deadly skill, yet still grounded by moments of vulnerability and emotion. Whether facing impossible odds, enduring brutal trials, or confronting her past, her mission remains clear: revenge.
Inspired in part by Toshiya Fujita’s Lady Snowblood, Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair presents Tarantino’s original vision by merging Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 into a single, seamless experience. This version removes the original cliffhanger structure, adds an intermission, includes an extended animated sequence, and restores the iconic House of Blue Leaves fight to full color.
Visceral, operatic, and visually striking, this rare 70mm presentation transforms the film into a true cinematic event, not just a revenge story, but a celebration of genre filmmaking at its most stylish and ambitious.
