A visually rich and quietly powerful reimagining of Homer’s Odyssey, following an older Odysseus as he returns home after years of wandering. The film blends myth and memory, showing less of the epic battles and more of the emotional weight of coming back changed. Its slow pacing and striking landscapes create a dreamlike atmosphere that pulls you into a world where time feels suspended. The imagery is poetic and symbolic, with long takes and minimal dialogue that let each scene breathe and linger. It explores themes of identity, displacement, and the idea that home may not be the same place you once left. Watching it now is especially interesting as a kind of preparation for Christopher Nolan’s upcoming take on The Odyssey, offering a completely different, more reflective interpretation of the same source. The film’s style feels almost meditative, focusing on mood and visual storytelling rather than action. It is a rewarding watch for anyone interested in myth, cinema, and how ancient stories can be told in deeply human and contemporary ways.

The film is in Ancient Greek, with English subtitles.
