Les parapluies de Cherbourg ☂️
A love story where every single line is sung! Jacques Demy’s colourful classic follows Geneviève, a young woman working in her mother’s umbrella shop, and Guy, the mechanic she falls in love with. When Guy is called away for military service, their romance is put to the ultimate test.
With candy-coloured sets, dreamy camerawork, and a radiant Catherine Deneuve, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg is romantic, stylish, and wonderfully bittersweet. A gorgeous musical about love, separation, and the choices life makes for us.
Come for the colours, stay for the heartbreak.
The film is in French, with English subtitles.
