Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore
Recently widowed Alice Hyatt sets out across the American Southwest with her young son Tommy, determined to start over and pursue the singing career she once dreamed of. When money begins to run short, their journey takes an unexpected detour and Alice finds herself working as a waitress, navigating motherhood, independence, new friendships and the possibility of love.
One of Martin Scorsese's most distinctive early films, Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore moves away from the male-dominated worlds more commonly associated with the director to place a woman's search for independence at its centre. Warm, funny and unsentimental, the film earned Ellen Burstyn the Academy Award for Best Actress and remains a fascinating entry in 1970s New Hollywood — a story about independence, reinvention and the complicated freedom of starting again.

The film is in English with no subtitles.
