All Languages Café - Lindy Hop edition

Dear Language Lovers,

We're back with a very special event.

What could be a better way to spend your Friday evening than by meeting nice people, practicing your favourite languages and joining a Lindy Hop dance workshop?

What is Lindy Hop?
Lindy Hop is a partnered swing dance that grew out of African American communities in Harlem, New York in the early 20th century. It’s playful, expressive, improvisational and always connected to the music.

Lindy Hop is danced mostly to jazz and rhythm & blues music. Although it is a partner dance, solo jazz elements also play a big part.

If this sounds like fun to you, we’d love to have you join us at our first Lindy Hop edition of Amsterdam Language Café. We're excited to welcome Amsterdam-based dance school, Stampij, to run the optional Lindy Hop workshops and help us create yet another special night.

Programme:
The concept of the Amsterdam Language Cafe is simple: all nationalities are welcome and you can practice any language you want to improve.

You are welcome from 20.00 o'clock onwards. You will get a sticker with your name, the languages you speak and the languages you want to practice. After that, your language exchange experience can begin!

Throughout the evening, Stampij will also host two optional workshops upstairs:
20:45 - Beginners (30 minutes)
21:15 - Open level (45 minutes)

This will be followed by the opportunity to participate in social dancing from 22:00 to 23:00.

Koentact language course raffle:
As usual, Dutch Language School Koentact is going to raffle a free evening Dutch Language Course worth 525 euros. All non-native Dutch speakers will have a chance to participate!

Location:
You can enter Café Belcampo directly from Tollenstraat (De Hallen). We recommend grabbing some food beforehand in the famous 'Foodhallen' next door.

Donations welcome:
Our event is completely free, however, we really like to support disadvantaged children with their studies at school in the Netherlands.
