Description:
Living abroad is an enriching and transformative experience — but it can also bring moments of cultural disconnection, identity confusion, and longing for home.

When you move to a new country, you don’t just adapt to a new place — you renegotiate who you are. Language, food, humor, values, traditions, social norms — all of these shape your identity. And when you're immersed in a different culture, it can sometimes feel like parts of you become quieter, misunderstood, or even invisible.

This in-person meetup offers a reflective and supportive space to explore how to celebrate and maintain your cultural identity while living abroad — without pressure to assimilate and without framing your differences as something to “fix.”

This is not a therapy session and not a political debate.
It’s an opportunity to build awareness, pride, and connection around your cultural roots while navigating life as an expat.

What We’ll Explore:
✅ What cultural identity really means beyond nationality
✅ The emotional experience of living between cultures
✅ How to honor your roots while adapting to a new environment

Why In-Person?
Conversations about identity, belonging, and cultural roots benefit from shared presence and authentic dialogue. Being together in the same space allows for warmth, nuance, and real connection that screens often can’t fully offer.

About your host:
This event is hosted by Armandina Ramírez and Aylin Özer, Armandina is psychologist and founder of www.nutrimind.life. Through Amsterdam Mental Health, she creates inclusive and reflective spaces for internationals navigating identity, belonging, relationships, and emotional well-being while living abroad.

Aylin Özer is an applied psychologist and founder of Mindspot. She works with people who are dealing with stress, burnout, or returning to work after being on sick leave. After six years in mental health care and a year in recruitment, she decided to combine both worlds and start her own practice. Between cultures, we don’t lose ourselves — we expand.
