🎤 The Speakers
Security in the age of AI by Tim Hunter
The age of AI has now arrived, with powerful applications such as ChatGPT and Dall-E making headlines. How do these new capabilities affect our security? In this talk, we will see that AI brings both continuity and revolution to systems security. At the end of this talk, you will learn:
- how deepfakes affect trust from a security standpoint
- how AI-assisted intrusions are evolving into new threats
- the state of the art in attacking a Machine Learning model or certifying that it is robust to security attacks
Bio:
Tim Hunter is a senior AI specialist at ABN AMRO. He was an early software engineer at Databricks and has contributed to the Apache Spark MLlib project, and he has co-created the Koalas, GraphFrames, TensorFrames and Deep Learning Pipelines libraries. He holds a Ph.D. in Machine Learning from UC Berkeley and he has been building distributed Machine Learning systems with Spark since version 0.0.2, before Spark was an Apache Software Foundation project.
Taking XAI to the next level: Conversational XAI by Tim Kleinloog
At Deeploy we believe in the power of explainable AI (XAI) to facilitate human-AI interaction. Excellent libraries like Shap, Alibi and OmniXAI make it very accessible for Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers to apply XAI, both during experimentation as during model serving. While applying XAI in practice we experienced that tailoring explanations to user needs is a challenge. That's why we developed Conversational XAI that makes it possible to tailor explanations by providing a natural interaction with multiple explainers to meet specific needs, even for non-technical stakeholders.
Bio:
Tim is CTO and Co-Founder of Deeploy, a software platform for Responsible & Explainable AI based in Utrecht, Netherlands. With a focus on deploying, monitoring, and explaining Machine Learning models, Deeploy recognizes the importance of human involvement in Machine Learning to build trust and enable feedback and decision-making. Prior to Deeploy, Tim worked as a Lead Machine Learning Engineer at Enjins, an ML consultancy, where he was responsible for delivering machine learning engines to clients and leading a team of talented engineers as well as a Senior Advisor Data Science and Consultant Data Science at EY VODW.
