Welcome to our Sahaja Yoga meditation group. 🧘

We're a friendly, all-welcome community offering free guided meditation sessions in Amsterdam. No experience, equipment, or special clothing needed — just bring yourself and an open mind.

Our sessions are based on Sahaja Yoga, a simple method of meditation founded by Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi in 1970. The name comes from Sanskrit: "Sahaja" means "born with" and "yoga" means "union."

Rather than effortful concentration, the practice gently guides you into a state of mental quiet and present-moment awareness, often described as "thoughtless awareness."
Many people find that regular practice helps them feel calmer, more balanced, and better able to handle daily stress. It's suitable for absolutely anyone — any age, background, or belief — and you can go at your own pace.
A few things that matter to us:

Always 100% free. Sahaja Yoga is offered free of charge everywhere in the world, and our group is no exception. There's nothing to buy and nothing to sign up for.
Run by volunteers, with no levels, hierarchy, or pressure.
Better together. Meditating as a group has a noticeably deeper effect than practicing alone—that's the whole reason we gather.
