**[World Usability Day](https://worldusabilityday.org/)** is single day of events occurring around the world that brings together communities of professional, industrial, educational, citizen, and government groups for our common objective: to ensure that the services and products important to life are easier to access and simpler to use.

**2025 Theme: Emerging Technologies and the Human Experience**
Emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, augmented reality, and immersive interfaces are transforming human interactions with digital systems and environments. As these innovations rapidly evolve, it is crucial to prioritize user privacy, build robust trust mechanisms, and maintain human-centered design principles. By thoughtfully integrating technological advancements with ethical considerations, we can create digital experiences that are not only powerful and innovative but also respectful of individual needs and rights.

**We've invited three engaging short-form talks that align with this year's theme.**

**1\. Elevate your Strategy Literacy \- Strategic Design in the Age of AI** by [Jenny WL Kan](https://www.linkedin.com/in/jennywlkan/), Innovation Strategist and Engagement Lead at ServiceNow.

Jenny believes that in the age of AI, usability isn't the end goal—strategic literacy is. In this talk, she'll defy how AI expands the role of designers beyond user experience into business strategy, helping connect design decisions to market positioning and measurable outcomes.

**Jenny Kan** has 15+ years of experience in design strategy and innovation across global brands and agencies. She is also the founding president of Amstelveen Toastmasters, a public-speaking and leadership club.

**2\. Designing for novel devices & the rise of the now forgotten Apple Vision Pro** by [Martina Bonetti](https://www.linkedin.com/in/martinabonetti/), UX & Service Designer at EPAM

Ever tried designing for a device that is not on the market yet? In this talk, we will learn what it was like to be an early designer for VisionOS during the run-up to the Apple Vision Pro’s launch, when we were all trying to figure out what “spatial computing” really meant.

We will listen about the weird and fun challenges of building immersive experiences on a flat screen, reviewing 3D worlds through 2D mockups, and how designing for the future sometimes means guessing your way through it. And, of course, we’ll look back at what the Vision Pro hype era left us.

**Martina** is a UX & Service Designer at an agency, problem solver by trade, plant hoarder by hobby.

**3\. Prototyping in the AI Era** by [Vitor Amaral](https://www.linkedin.com/in/vitoroamaral/), Senior Product Designer at Intercom

Artificial Intelligence is not just changing what we design, but how we design. Prototyping, long the cornerstone of creative exploration, is being redefined by AI tools that accelerate ideation, testing, and iteration. In this talk, Vitor shares how this moment represents one of the most exciting opportunities in the product design role, where designers can expand their influence, experiment faster, and redefine their role beyond traditional boundaries.

**Vitor** is a Brazilian designer based in Amsterdam, currently shaping the future of customer service at Intercom, an AI-native company. With 10+ years of experience across industries, he brings a global perspective to design and draws inspiration from travel, photography, and film.
