L'Atalante (1934)

Details
This time I'm being a bit selfish and picking a movie I've wanted to see for a long time. L'Atalante from 1934 has stood in high regard ever since there was such a thing for movies. Critic David Thomson says this "This is not so much a masterpiece as a definition of cinema--and thus a film that stands resolutely apart from the great body of existing film" and "the film is waterlogged with longing".
Such words make me long to see the longing. My hope is for a few others who might feel some longing as well...
As always, dinner & wine served at 6:30. Movie starts at 7:00
p.s. I'd like to ask folks to please avoid an RSVP of yes unless you're pretty certain to come. Food planning hinges on expected attendance. I am ok with RSVPs of yes that are changed to no before the day of event.
