OUTLAST ALL: World Mental Health Day at Downtown Disney
ποΈ October 10, 2026 β World Mental Health Day
π Downtown Disney District β Anaheim, California
π Time: This is casual, come-and-go. You're welcome to arrive whenever works for you and stay as long or as little as you'd like. No pressure! π
Come alone. Come with someone. Say hello. Don't say hello. Just come be part of the day.
Rich or poor. Struggling or doing great. Outgoing or shy. Whatever your background. Coming with ten friends or coming completely alone.
Everyone is welcome.
For World Mental Health Day, I'm going to Downtown Disney and inviting anyone who wants to come out and be part of something positive.
And I want to make something clear right from the beginning:
I'm going alone too.
I'm the person organizing this, and I'll be extremely nervous myself. π Reaching out to complete strangers and trying to start something like this is definitely way outside my comfort zone.
But that's also part of why I'm doing it. Sometimes you've just got to push yourself a little and see what happens.
So... What Are We Actually Doing?
Honestly? Whatever you want.
This isn't going to be a structured event where everyone has to stand in a circle, introduce themselves or participate in activities. I don't want anyone feeling that kind of pressure.
Downtown Disney is where I'm planning to start, but that doesn't mean you have to spend the whole day there to be part of this.
There are plenty of other places around the area too. Maybe you go to the movies or the park, head over to Anaheim GardenWalk, the Outlets at Orange, or somewhere else entirely. Maybe you meet a few people here and decide to go somewhere together.
That's still being part of it.
The idea isn't that everybody has to stay together in one place all day. It's simply to have people come out on the same day, connect however they're comfortable and know:
There are other people here who came for the same reason I did.
Walk around. Grab something to eat. Shop. Hang out. Talk to people if you want. Don't talk if you don't want to.
Maybe you meet somebody and have a meaningful conversation. Maybe you make a new friend. Or maybe you spend half the afternoon debating which Disney snack is superior. (We all know it's a churro. π)
All of those sound pretty good to me.
If you see me, come say hi. If you're too nervous to walk up and introduce yourself, message me through Meetup.
Seriously. You can message me and say:
"I'm here, but I'm nervous."
I'll understand because there's a pretty good chance I'll be nervous too. π We'll figure it out together.
There is zero pressure to share anything about yourself or your mental health. Do as much or as little as you're comfortable with.
Coming Alone?
Then you already know at least one other person who's going alone:
Me.
So technically, neither one of us will be alone anymore. That's kind of the point.
You don't need to bring a friend just so you have someone to stand next to. You don't need to be super outgoing. You don't need to know anybody beforehand.
Just showing up counts.
Do I Need a Disneyland Ticket?
Nope.
That's important to me because I want people to be able to come regardless of whether they want to spend money going into the parks.
If you already have Disneyland admission and you want to go into the park, great. If you meet some people here who also want to go, great. If you spend the entire time at Downtown Disney, also great.
Disneyland / California Adventure is completely optional.
Why World Mental Health Day?
Honestly, because mental health matters.
Mental health affects all of us in one way or another. It doesn't matter who you are, what you do, where you come from or what your life looks like from the outside.
Some people live with mental health challenges themselves. Some love someone who does. Some simply want to show their support. And some might not have any particular connection to mental health challenges at all but believe people should support one another.
All of those people are welcome.
You don't need to have a mental health condition to come. This isn't therapy or a support group, and nobody is expected to talk about anything personal.
Maybe meaningful conversations happen. Maybe new friendships happen. Maybe we just walk around Downtown Disney, have a good time and laugh about something stupid.
Or somehow end up right back in that very serious Disney snack debate. π
All of those are perfectly fine. The point is simply to get people together, spread some positivity and hopefully make somebody's day a little better.
What is Outlast?
You might be wondering why this is called Outlast All.
Outlast is something I created from my own personal struggles and one simple idea:
Never give up. Outlast it.
I personally say OUTLAST ALL, meaning outlast anything and everything that gets in your way.
And I really do mean anything.
For one person, that might mean getting through an incredibly difficult time in their life. For someone else, it might mean chasing a goal, dealing with a setback, getting through a bad day, supporting someone they care about, or just trying to push through those last couple of minutes on the treadmill. π
There's no requirement for what your "thing" has to be.
Mental health is very important to me, which is one reason I wanted to do this on World Mental Health Day, but I've never thought of Outlast as being only about mental health.
It's for everyone.
What I'd really like Outlast to become is something that brings people together around that simple idea of continuing forward and supporting each other along the way.
Maybe someday someone sees another person wearing the Outlast logo and recognizes it. They might not know that person. They might have completely different lives.
But they know what the symbol means:
Never give up. Outlast it.
That's what Outlast means to me. And that's really what this day is about.
My Goal
Honestly, my goal is pretty simple:
Make somebody smile. π
As clichΓ© as that might sound, it's true.
I want to bring people together, spread a little positivity and hopefully remind someone that even when you feel alone, you don't have to be alone.
Maybe you meet someone you wouldn't have met otherwise. Maybe somebody makes your day a little better. Maybe you make theirs a little better.
And maybe we remind each other that whatever you're trying to get through or accomplish:
You can do it.
And honestly, if you're reading this thinking, "This sounds cool, but I'd be way too nervous to actually show up..."
I get it.
I'm nervous about doing it too.
But I'm going to show up anyway. That's me pushing myself outside my comfort zone.
Maybe showing up can be yours.
No pressure. No forced introductions. No requirement to tell your story.
Come alone or come with someone. Talk to people or just enjoy the day knowing you're part of it.
And if you're nervous, message me. We'll figure it out together.
Maybe 2 people show up. Maybe 24. Maybe more.
Either way, you have to start somewhere.
So let's see what happens.
Different people. Different stories. Different obstacles.
One simple idea: Never give up.
OUTLAST ALL.
