Main Talk
Unidirectional data flow in Angular 1.x apps

Maintaining application state is hard. With the recent rise in popularity of the unidirectional data flow pattern popularized by React + Flux, we've seen that there are ways to make it easier. In this talk we'll take technical deep dive into building an Angular 1.x application with the flux architecture at its core, and see how it can help us build apps that are easier to test, maintain, and reason about.

Speaker: Alex Taylor

Alex Taylor is a software engineer at Bigcommerce where he builds Angular applications that power the Bigcommerce control panel. Over the last year and a half, his primary focus has been working to convert a monolithic PHP app to smaller, more manageable SPA's. Outside of work, Alex enjoys sailing on the Bay or working on his 1967 Volkswagen Beetle.

I will present real-life examples from our Mac and web app implementations at Plan (https://getplan.co) that demonstrate how to make use of custom renderers to create reusable components that work in various different environments. We will also explore what Angular platforms are and what will be possible down the road when it comes to rendering Angular2 applications.
