About the Meetup
Asobimasho is a monthly Japanese pop-culture-inspired tabletop gaming group focusing on anime-inspired role-playing games, games from Japanese media, and real-life games played or popularized in Japan. We’re celebrating the launch of Asobimasho by starting with the fundamentals: a simple and light dungeon-crawl in D&D.

Game Description
Defying no tropes of tabletop gaming whatsoever, you all meet in a tavern. One of the regulars tells you about a nearby abandoned temple of Boccob, the God of Magic. There are rumors that strange, illusory creatures have been coming out of the temple and causing trouble in the town. The town's mayor is offering a considerable reward to any adventurer's willing to investigate the temple and drive back the strange creatures attacking the village...

The Studio of Animental Evil is a D&D 3.5 one-shot adventure designed for up to 6 players.

How to Join

  1. Mark your RSVP for this meetup. (Due to the limited seating and preparation required for this meetup, we ask that your RSVP represents a commitment to play.)

  2. Decide whether you’d like to play one of the pre-generated characters (see the List of Player Characters below) or create your own character. If you want to play one of the pre-generated characters, comment with the name of the character you want to play. Character reservations are first-come, first-serve.

  3. If you want to create your own character, read through the character creation guidelines and send your character to info@animechicago.com no later than 2 weeks prior to the game. You are free to use the Standard Reference Documents, supporting material, and homebrew; however, the game master reserves any right to make any changes to a submitted character. The game master must approve your character before you use the character in-game.

  4. Read through the Asobimasho Rules and the D&D 3.5 House Rules.

All of the player information (including the house rules and pre-generated characters) can be found here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/10hfVxhqruSCKmxcHnolDnjlEESMaTnI__yX_FQ-HYH8/edit?usp=sharing
