About us
We differ from other local AI/ML meetups in the following ways:
- Local & social - We aim for local community building and idea sharing in the Ann Arbor / Ypsilanti area; most of our meetups are in-person.
- Generalist - We focus on the general topics of AI/ML, not on any specialized fields such as NLP or CV.
- Low barrier - Our participants are very diverse, including self-learners, business people, entrepreneurs, students, and those who just started their journey in AI/ML; no PhD degree is needed to participate.
We regularly meet the first Thursday of each month.

How Agentic AI Is Transforming Compliance Automation
Ann Arbor SPARK Headquarters, 330 E Liberty St, Ann Arbor, MI, USCompliance documentation in safety-critical system development is slow, expensive, and largely manual. Agentic AI—coordinated systems of autonomous agents that reason, use tools, and self-correct across multi-step workflows—offers a fundamentally different approach.
But in safety-critical domains, capability alone isn’t enough. Accuracy and deterministic behavior are non-negotiable: in this domain, a wrong output isn’t a bug to fix—it’s a liability that can halt certification or ship an unsafe system.
Krishna draws on real-world experience deploying agentic AI for compliance automation, sharing the challenges, design patterns, and limitations to meet the accuracy and determinism bar that safety-critical work demands.
Bio: Krishna Koravadi builds AI systems to improve the development efficiency and quality of safety-critical systems. He is Founder & CEO of GapLensAI, CTO of Aha Automotive Innovations Inc., and Principal AI Consultant at Nava Inventions LLC. With 20+ years of experience in ADAS/autonomous vehicles and AI product leadership, he has shipped GenAI products in safety-critical environments, holds 120+ US patent applications (58 grants), and is a TÜV Nord certified functional safety engineer. He has spoken at AutoSense Detroit, SDV & AI in Automotive USA, and automotive AI forums in Munich.
Pizzas and sodas will be provided by Ann Arbor SPARK to keep the energy up!
Whether you’re a student, researcher, entrepreneur, or hobbyist, everyone interested in AI/ML is welcome.
