The Annapolis Jaycees, jointly with the US Naval Academy, will be hosting Special Olympics swimming qualifier competitions on April 13 at the Pasadena Y from 8:30am - 2:00pm, and then hitting Green Turtle next door for a happy hour to celebrate a job well done.

Breakfast and Lunch is provided. Minimum volunteer age is 13 (with parental signature) and volunteers will need to sign a volunteer waiver. We're seeking 15-20 volunteers for this event!

Each athlete will be paired with a Midshipman "buddy" from USNA, while the rest of the volunteers will be assigned one of the following tasks:
Registration - Responsible for checking in Coaches, Athletes, and volunteers. Verifying event scratches.
Staging - Responsible for locating and lining up all athletes for their events. Will seed all athletes into lanes.
Timing - Responsible for taking and recording the time for each athlete in their respective lane.
Starter - Responsible for on-deck athlete verification, event start, and general operations..
Scoring - Responsible for recording athlete time and processing line-up for awards.
Awards - Responsible for creating awards and presentations after each event.
Lunch - Responsible for the set up, distribution, and cleanup on lunch.

Parking / Security Protocols:
YMCA (Pasadena)
Parking at the YMCA is open to all athletes, coaches, spectators, and volunteers. Volunteers will be asked to park in the “Volunteer” parking area or in the “Overflow” parking area leaving the spaces near the entrance for athletes and coaches. The Volunteer parking area is the lot next to the Maryland Primary Care Physicians center and the Overflow parking area is across the street at Mt Zion United Methodist Church.
