MAKE a CUTTING/SERVING BOARD 101 (2-day workshop)

Details

[Class fee is discounted for subscribing members of Annapolis Makerspace]
Do you like to make things *and* appreciate beautiful hand-made kitchen accessories? Then this class is for you! In this 2-part weekend workshop, you’ll make from scratch your own gorgeous custom cutting/serving board from premium hardwoods!

We'll use the creation of a cutting /serving board to teach students the fundamentals of woodworking with an emphasis on quality craftsmanship. Participants will build skills and enjoy hands-on work with the jointer, planer, table saw, drum sander, orbital sander, and use the laminating process to turn mixed raw woods into an amazing finished item.

The workshop has been split into two days in order to allow adequate time for adhesives to dry and strengthen between the assembly and finishing steps. Attendance at both days is required to complete the workshop.

DAY 1 (Sat) 9am - 12 noon: WOOD CUTTING & ASSEMBLY
DAY 2 (Sun) 9am - 11am: FINISHING (w/optional engraving)

At the end of the workshop, each participant will go home with their own finished, ready-to-use custom hand-made wood cutting board!

SKILL LEVEL: Beginner
Minimum age = 18
Instructor: Steve Harper
