The purpose of this group is to offer educational workshops and instruction to individuals and groups that want to improve their photography and improve the understanding of their camera.

We're huge on continuing education. Some of our Meetups will be at no charge, and some require, and deserve, a fee.
We hope you decide to participate as often as possible.

As you may know, I have close to 50 years of experience actually working with celebrities, Grammy winning musicians, actors, models, and the President of the United States. As expected, most photographers are clueless about industry expectations, what the ingredients are for both commercial photos and headshots. But, just as important, how to help the talent get the most out of the session, even from the psychological point of view.

The Tidewater Camera Club of Easton, MD invites you to this very special live presentation at Unitarian Universalist Fellowship at Easton, located at
7401 Ocean Gateway (US 50) Easton, Maryland. (It's across the street from Easton High School. You'll have to make a U-turn)

Our esteemed speaker for tonight has been a full-time actor for 35 + years. Perhaps you saw their scene with Tom Hanks in the film A Man Called Otto.

This incredibly talented actor and model has been cast in more than 1,275 projects: including the ABC TV Pilot Heart of Life, Steve Carell's/Jon Stewart feature, Irresistible, Gotham, their recurring role on House of Cards, Mr. Robot, Amazon's Thespian, Halt and Catch Fire, Rectify, Law & Order: CI, Project Almanac, Philomena, Fishbowl, his latest Netflix feature - White Noise and the upcoming HBO mini-series We Own This City to name a few. Learn from this actor's and model's perspective how to create effective headshots that will truly help actors when submitting to agents, casting directors and others in the industry.

You will also understand the ingredients that need to be used to produce powerful eye-catching commercial photos that can get actors and models commercial work.

Learn the keys in helping the talent get the most out of the session. Learn how important it is to have a clear strategy to knowing what to say to help relax a nervous talent, and to show them techniques that will relax and allow the actor and model to give the desired and believable looks and expressions during the session. You will also be given a few suggestions on what to say to actors in order to help them be fully prepared for their session.

DETAILS FOR SUBMITTING IMAGES
1. Submit up to THREE images for this critique that were taken during the time frame listed below that fit the theme as described above in the Meetup Details. NO AI MAY BE USED TO ADD ANYTHING TO YOUR IMAGES, BUT CAN BE UTILIZED TO REMOVE DISTRACTIONS.
Sky replacement is also permitted.

2. You need to send me your images in JPG or PNG format, and the LONGEST DIMENSION for the image you submit must be 1024 pixels long. So, a vertical photo will be 1024 tall by whatever the length comes out to be, and a horizontal photo will be 1024 wide by however tall the height comes out to be. Please send your images with a resolution of 72 pixels per inch and save in the sRGB color space. Your entries must be sent to me no later than 11:59 pm on the deadline date listed below at the bottom.

3. The file name of the image needs to be JUST the title of the image. As an example, if the title of an image I submit is called pretzels, the image file name would be pretzels.png or pretzels.jpg

4. DO NOT INCLUDE YOUR NAME IN THE FILENAME

5. Please, no borders or watermarks on the digital images you submit for critique.

6. Email your entries to david@posneg.com with the three words “SEPTEMBER IMAGE CRITIQUE” in the subject line. Failure to do this will disqualify your images. PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPELLING!

The main purpose of the CRITIQUE session is to help you learn and grow as a photographer.

You can only submit images if you will be ONLINE for the critique session.

Your images must have been taken AFTER June 20th, 2026

**Final deadline to submit images will be 11:59 pm on MONDAY September 28th, 2026**
