When:
Time: 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Where: Pack Saddle Campground
Duration: Saturday-Sunday
Distance/Gain: 5-8 Miles/1500ft
Difficulty: Moderate

NOTE: Please give yourself enough time to arrive here. The estimated travel time is about 4 hours due the small back road that takes up the bulk of your driving. Phone signals here are next to non-existent and if you are late to the meetup, its nobody's fault but your own. You are expected to catch up to everyone along the trail if you happen to be late.

Camp Info: It is a first come first serve basis and the sites are a walk-in type...Site opens on May 4...after May 20...they start charging $24. I will update as we go.

Info:

I am all about the outdoors and the wonders of California park whether that be at your local neighborhood garden all the way up to the national level. That is why this time around...I have decided to extend my invitation out to everyone who would like to come and participate in this activity. We will camping at Pack Saddle campground which is another 20-30 minute walk before we get to the actual trail where we will begin. Tucked away up on a peak in the Tahoe National Forest known to the locals but the secret is slowly spreading and now travelers near and far are drawn to the majestic site at the very top of the lookout. This hike is one of the most memorable for me as it was that unique and hopefully you will experience something similar to that extend. The journey in ascending to the top of the lookout point is not difficult by any means but it is at the very top that you will be rewarded with a breathtaking 360 degree view of the land around and beneath your feet. For those that have a fear of heights...mustering the courage for the last few meters to be standing right above the cliff end with a drop off of several thousand feet. Not only this...you might be able to catch a glimpse of Mt. Lassen in the distinct on a clear day and yes Mt. Lassen is very far away but that is just how awesome this place is. With everyone focus on doing activities locally. There is an endless opportunities to do those hike year round but for trips like mine where it requires a decent amount of driving. Opportunity like this do not come around often and when it does...it goes away just as quick as it came and hell yeah we did our hike in sandals!

We will leave from the bay area in the early morning on Saturday. Once everyone arrives and we unload our gear and get our stuff in order. We will make haste for the hike...the hike itself should take anywhere from 4-7 hours depending on the group pace. After the hike we will settle back in at camp and take it easy for the night because I am sure everyone will be exhausted from not only from the driving itself but to also just hike on the same day. We will leave from the campsite on Sunday at noon and getting back to the bay area between 5:00-7:00 PM.
