Fic Writing Session ✍️📚 @ Harold Washington Library

Join several AO3 writers on the 6th floor of the Harold Washington Public Library. 😄💃🏽 We'll be sharing a study room toward the back, so check in at the front desk so they can lead you to the correct one.

What to expect: Once a few people have gathered, we usually do a casual round of introductions. Feel free to share your name and—optionally!—what you're working on or just what fandom(s) you're in. For the first hour, free to chat as you work. The final hour is silent writing time.

45-minute writing sprint @ 1PM: If you're on Discord, you can join other writers across the city for a 45-minute writing sprint during our silent hour, competing to see who can get the most words down in a single session. 😈😄

What to bring:

• Pen, paper, and/or your laptop — Basically anything you need to work on whatever. Even if all you have is a general idea, join us!
• A creative project! — If you have an original story, fanart, poetry, or even music in mind, you may join us to work on that as well. 😄
• Ideas — You are welcome to collaborate! Even during our silent time, we have a Discord chat where writers can bounce ideas back and forth.

(Note: This event is part of an experimental series where we'll try to host simultaneous writing sessions throughout the city every third Saturday of the month. We're hoping this method would allow us to maintain consistency while accommodating more members. Thank you so much for bearing with us while we work out the kinks. ❤️)
