October's theme is Horror: The Body & Transformation. This month, we're exploring fics that evoke discomfort—even outright fear—in monsters, monstrosity, and one's sense of self.

How to participate:

Step 1: Discovery — Read a fic with at least one of the following tags:
Body Horror / Transformation / Psychological Horror / Corruption / Vampires / Werewolves / Monsters / Mind Control / Possession

Step 2: Discuss
Fic-focused topics

• Who or what is the 'monster' in your fic? The antagonist? The hero? Neither? What exactly makes them so 'monstrous'?
• Does your fic depict transformation? How? Why? Is the process frightening, liberating, or both?

Fandom-focused topics

• What makes horror such a compelling genre for fan writers to experiment with?
• For horror, what do you wish fic writers did more often? Less often?

Step 3 (optional): Engage — Post your analysis under the fic and/or on our Discord forum! <3
