What we’re about

Apache Pinot is a realtime distributed OLAP datastore, which is used to deliver scalable real time analytics with low latency. It can ingest data from batch data sources (S3, HDFS, Azure Data Lake, Google Cloud Storage) as well as streaming sources (such as Kafka). Pinot is used extensively at LinkedIn and Uber to power many analytical applications such as Who Viewed My Profile, Ad Analytics, Talent Analytics, Uber Eats and many more serving 200k+ queries per second while ingesting 1Million+ events per second.

Pinot committers are active on slack. Click here to join our slack channel.
This meetup is for developers and users of Apache Pinot to share information on

• How to use Pinot
• Internals of Pinot
• Products built on top of Pinot

Real-time analytics is no longer a retrofit to systems never designed for it — it has become a dedicated category built to deliver both performance and efficiency. Co-hosted by GigaOM and StarTree, this webinar will explore how these systems were designed with a fundamentally different center of gravity by optimizing for high concurrency, sub-second query latency, and operational workloads where freshness of data is non-negotiable.

We’ll define the attributes that set real-time analytic databases apart, provide a clear view of the current landscape, and share a practical framework for navigating technology choices. The discussion will be grounded in real-world use cases across industries—ranging from personalization and anomaly detection to AI/LLM observability—that highlight the unique value of this category.

    You’ll come away with:

    • Clarity on the category — What sets real-time analytic databases apart from traditional warehouses and OLAP systems.
    • A framework for navigation — How to evaluate platforms and choose the right fit for your use case.
    • Proven examples — Real-world cases of organizations using real-time analytics for personalization, anomaly detection, and AI/LLM workloads.

Join us to understand why this architectural shift matters, how organizations are already realizing business impact, and where the space is headed next.
