About us

Greetings Agilists,

For almost 18 years, APLN Chicago has proudly served as a leading source of community, knowledge sharing, and support for Agile practitioners around Chicago and then the world. Throughout that time, we have explored a wide range of approaches, fostered meaningful conversations, and encouraged the open sharing of ideas across our community – and each of you has had a hand in that.

In recent years, we have seen a steady decline in attendance. To be clear, we do not believe this reflects a diminished need for agility or the values it represents.

Instead, we view this moment as a natural inflection point—an opportunity to recognize that this chapter has run its course. What we built together was something special, a kind of “lightning in a bottle” that sustained a long and meaningful run – but may not be something that can or should be extended indefinitely.

As we bring APLN Chicago to a close, we want to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed their time, energy, and passion to this community. Your participation made this journey worthwhile.

We hope each of you continues your Agile journey with curiosity and openness—applying these principles in new contexts, evolving them, and helping others discover their value along the way.

And while we may be stepping back from the limelight for a time, we remain your faithful servants.
