Valley Forge 5 or 6 Miles at a Reasonable Pace.
Details
Valley Forge National Historical park contains over 35 miles of hiking trails. We will find five or six of these.
Kids are raised (and visiting their inlaws). I don't need to start cooking 'till 1 ish. There are no good cartoons on. I get bored. I'm going for a somewhat relaxed walk. You are welcome to come along. 5 or 6 miles, reasonable speed, a couple hills, a few rocks and a root or two. This is NOT a workout hike, more a briskish stroll.
Water and calories for a couple hours in the suburbs. Sneakers might work if you are used to such. Rain/snow cancels. Layers are nice. Charged cell phones are a good idea. There is no public hunting in National Parks.
You are most welcome to signup on AMC'S web site but please also sign up on Meetup. This allows both me and your fellow hikers to see who is attending, aids the vetting process and helps my almost nonexistent memory for names. It also allows for convenient communication. You are also welcome to just come. Plan on signing a waiver of liability at the trail head. Rain/snow cancels check Meetup 2 hours before. Most often we cancel the night before for strong forecasts. Meet in the Artillery Park parking lot, at the end near the restrooms. GPS coordinates: 40.0939, -75.4490
