3rd Wednesday Speaker Series/Potluck: The Mass. Appalachian Trail - A Potpourri

Details

“The Mass. Appalachian Trail … A Potpourri”. It takes many organizations, volunteers, projects, and other activities to make the AT work, but how is it all done? Well, Jim Pelletier will give us a peek behind the curtain to answer the question. He’ll tell us about some current projects on the AT: trail reroutes, campsite relocations, replacement of the Mass Pike AT bridges with a combined wildlife and AT crossing, and more. He’ll explain how the various teams and committees involved work together to make all this happen - AMC, ATC, US Park Service, Mass AT Committee.

Jim has served on the Massachusetts AT Committee for many years and in various roles, including ten years as Committee Chair. He is also widely regarded as the go-to guy on wildlife tracking.

Bring a dish to share - appetizer, entree, dessert, beverage. Doors open at 6:30, dinner at 7:00, speaker shortly after.

Location: Northboro Historical Society, 52 Main St. (Rt.20) - parking lot on School Street.

Registration is optional. All are welcome: members, non-members, families, visitors & guests. If you're interested in a brief intro to the AMC and the Worcester Chapter at 6:30, contact thirdwed@amcworcester.org.
