Description: When the water is flowing, the Cascades are a magnificent vibrant waterfall! But in both wet and dry periods, the area has much to offer!
This Ramble is intended to introduce hikers to the trails and features at Cascading Waters, also known as the Cascades. We'll look to explore the amphitheater, Wunneompset (beautiful rock), and view the old pet cemetery. For the Ramble, there will be both planned and unplanned stops, where we will discuss the features of the property, as we hike and explore as a group.
Coordination:
Registration will close on the 18th! Please register early and cancel if you cannot make it - we will have a waitlist. There is limited street parking at the listed address. Overflow parking is street parking on Cataract Street. We will meet at the trailhead. We will do a trail talk at 9:45 and leave promptly at 10 am! Please be on time!
Notable items to prepare for: - Some trails we will travel are not heavily used and preparation for ticks and a thorough tick check post hike is highly recommended - Dogs - the nearby neighbors often walk their dogs on trail, both on and off leash. Only service animals in our group, NO OTHER PETS.
Equipment:
Be prepared with your water, any snacks, sunscreen, insect repellent and any emergency meds. Have good shoes/boots able to handle rocky trails and roots.
Other details:
Approx. Total Distance: 1.5 miles out, 1.5 miles back ~3.2 miles total when we add small diversions.
Cancellation:
If circumstances force us to cancel the hike, we'll email all attendees. If you change your mind for any reason, please cancel ASAP and free up a spot for another person!
