Description: Join the AMC Worcester Chapter for our monthly potluck dinner, social, and speaker. Our September speaker will be Kathy O'Neill. In late 2020, Kathy and three others set out to hike a series of section walks across Massachusetts traveling from Charlestown to the NY border. They completed this journey in September of 2021. Kathy will share the inspirations for the walk, the challenges, planning, and some of the beautiful scenery in the cities and towns traversed, including a few things about our home state that you probably didn't know!
Kathy is a retired data scientist who loves to walk. Since retiring in 2020, she has walked over 400 miles each year. Walking across states has become her most enjoyable retirement hobby. These section walks combine her joy of walking with a goal, her love of history, and the challenge of the logistical problems they present. Kathy is a long-time resident of Marlborough, Mass., and current AMC member.
Bring a dish to share - appetizer, entree, dessert, or beverage. Doors open at 6:30, dinner at 7:00, speaker shortly after.
Location: Northboro Historical Society, 52 Main St. (Rt. 20) - parking lot on School Street.
