Description: The Midstate Trail Committee are leading two hikes starting at the Balance Rock Trailhead at Wachusett Mountain on November 8th: one easy and one more difficult. This is the more difficult one and will hike the Midstate Trail up to the summit of Mount Wachusett and back. The easier hike will hike to Redemption Rock and back. Along the way, the hike leaders will provide some history and stories to help celebrate 100 years of the Midstate Trail. This hike will be 3.5 miles in length with an elevation gain of 900 feet. Afterwards there will be an informal meetup at Wachusett Brewery where folks can purchase food and beverages and spend time together after the hikes conclude.
