We're "APPARE Yosakoi Vancouver" a Yosakoi (Japanese dance) team in Vancouver!
私たち「APPARE Yosakoi Vancouver」はバンクーバーで活動しているよさこいチームです！
Yosakoi is a Japanese dance, which is originally from Kochi (Southwest part of Japan). Yosakoi is such an energetic dance that enlivened the spectators so now spreads around the world and is loved by a lot of people across the world!! There are at least 4 teams in Canada and at least 6 teams in the US.
よさこいは高知発祥の踊りで日本全国幅広い年齢層によって楽しまれ、愛されています！はその勢いは日本国内にとどまらず、世界中に広がり、北米だけでもカナダに４つ、アメリカにも７チームあります！
Our team concept is to light up the city and the people in Vancouver. We are here to be the sun for RAINcouver, which has a lot of rain and many people here suffer from depression. We perform to light up the city and share happiness, joy and smiles through Yosakoi. The name has double meanings; "the kanji for APPARE is 天晴 meaning clear the sky" and "あっぱれ is a word people shout out after seeing an excellent performance.
チーム名「APPARE」には当て字の「天晴」から、雨が多いバンクーバーの空を太陽のように明るく晴れやかに照らすという意味と、演舞の後には「あっぱれ」、つまり"Excellent!" "Wonderful!"って言ってもらえるようになろう、なろう！という意気込みという二重の意味があります！

No charge for the first trial practice!

$8 for walk-ins (From the second time / Practice only)

$30 for a monthly membership （Unlimited practice + other events out of practice）
$30 メンバーシップ / 月（無制限に練習に参加可能 ＋ 練習以外のイベントも！）
costume / 衣装 $150
shipping fee /送料 approx $30 ~ 50（As we order from oversea / 海外発注のため）
Naruko (a wooded clapper) / 鳴子 at $20
sticker / ステッカー $3（To put on your Naruko / 鳴子に貼る用）
If you'd like to perform at festivals and events, you will be asked to purchase your own costume.
